<p>Tara Haelle, MA, is a science and health journalist specializing in medical research, public health, mental health, infectious disease, women's health, and metabolic health. </p><p>As a journalist for more than 20 years, her work has appeared in Scientific American, National Geographic, Men's Health, Self, WebMD, Texas Monthly, Science News, The New York Times, Wired, O Magazine, and NPR, among others. Tara has a passion for explaining complex medical topics and scientific research and helping people understand how evidence about health topics applies to our everyday lives. She is author of The Informed Parent: A Science-Based Resource for Your Child's First Four Years, Vaccination Investigation: The History and Science of Vaccines, and more than a dozen children's science books. She's also an avid pickleball player and cyclist who braves the Texas summers to get in those miles. </p><p>She holds a master’s degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin University and is based in Dallas, Texas.</p>
